1. Supported Devices & How to Update

Q1. Which devices are compatible for updating the display?

A. The display can be updated from smartphones that support NFC (Type-A) (iOS / Android) and from Windows PCs using a commercially available NFC reader. For PC updates, we recommend using a standard NFC reader, such as the SONY RC-S300.

Q2. Battery-free—how is that possible?

A. EZ Sign uses a combination of electronic paper and NFC communication/power transfer. Power is supplied from a smartphone or NFC reader only at the moment of updating. Once the display is updated, it retains the content without using any power.

This means no battery replacement, charging, or wiring work is required.

Q3. How much time does it take to rewrite the display?

A. As a guideline:

  • 2-color model: approximately 3–5 seconds
  • 4-color model: up to around 30 seconds

(Note: Times may vary depending on image size, device performance, and surrounding signal conditions.)

Q4. Why does my 4-color model only show black and white, without red or yellow?

A. Please check the following points:

  • In the dedicated app, make sure you have selected a “4-color compatible template” or “4-color data.”
  • Ensure your smartphone’s NFC antenna is firmly aligned with the center of the device.
  • Do not move the smartphone or the display during the update (4-color updates take longer).
  • Avoid updating while the device is in contact with metal surfaces or strong magnets, as this may cause unstable communication.

If the problem persists, please contact us with your device model and the number of units affected.

Q5. The update doesn’t start when I hold the device over it. Is it malfunctioning?

A. Please check the following steps in order:

  • Ensure your smartphone’s NFC function is turned ON.
  • Remove any thick cases or cases with magnets.
  • Position your smartphone’s NFC antenna (location varies by device) firmly on the center of the display.
  • Keep the device slightly away from metal surfaces while updating.
  • If possible, try the same operation with a different smartphone or, if available, a different EZ Sign unit.

If it still does not work, please contact us along with screenshots or a video showing the issue.

Q6. Is it possible to update several displays at once?

A. Currently, the NFC update method supports one unit at a time.
If you want to apply the same design to multiple units, we recommend saving the design in the app and then sequentially writing it to each device.

2. Installation Environment & Usage

Q7. When and where to use EZ sign?

A. EZ Sign is ideal for the following scenarios, thanks to its compact size, battery-free operation, and NFC-based updates:

  • Name tags for events and exhibitions (e.g., updating staff names, positions, or dates daily)
  • Displaying available languages or staff names at hotel or store front desks
  • Simple displays on counters, such as holiday calendars, queue numbers, or reservation statuses
  • Displaying store Wi-Fi information or various QR codes (for payments, social media, or website links)
  • Alerts, area indications, or simple status displays in factories or back offices

This product is particularly suited for close- to mid-range signage such as information tags, nameplates, and QR plates, rather than large conference room signs or signage that needs to be visible from a long distance.

Q8. Since it’s dust- and splash-resistant, is it safe to use outdoors?

A. The device has IP65-level dustproof and splashproof protection, making it suitable for use in dusty environments or kitchen back areas.

However, the following conditions may cause malfunction or display degradation:

  • Prolonged exposure to rain
  • Immersion in water
  • Continuous direct sunlight in high-temperature environments

For outdoor use, we recommend placing it under a roof or in a semi-outdoor environment.

Q9. How do I set it up? Is wall mounting possible?

A. Using the included accessories, the device can be installed in the following ways:

  • Acrylic Stand: Place it on counters or tables.
  • Name Tag Clip: Attach it to staff name tags or badges.
  • Double-Sided Tape: Stick it to surfaces such as doors or in front of shelves.

Note: NFC communication may become unstable near metal surfaces or strong magnets. During updates, either remove the device or position it slightly away from metal surfaces.

Q10. How durable is the display? Does the display experience burn-in?

A. Electronic paper is a display technology that can maintain an image for a long time without using power. In typical office or store environments, it can display the same content for extended periods.

Occasionally, a faint ghost of a previous display may remain. This can be mostly eliminated by:




3. About Designs and Data

Q11. Which design data formats are supported?

A. In the dedicated app, you can input text and perform simple layout editing, as well as import image data for display.

For recommended image sizes and formats, please refer to the manual or the in-app help.

Q12. Is it possible to display QR codes or barcodes?

A. Yes, QR codes can be displayed and scanned. The readable distance on a smartphone is similar to that of a QR code printed on standard paper POP displays.

Note: Very small QR codes or fine barcodes may be difficult to scan.

Q13. Is it possible for anyone to change the display content?

A. The display can be updated using the dedicated app on a smartphone with NFC enabled.

When using it in areas accessible to the public, please manage updates by:

  • Limiting the smartphones used for updating to authorized personnel only
  • Placing the EZ Sign unit out of direct reach

4. For Businesses: Implementation & Customization

Q14. Can I order multiple units at once, like 10 or 100 displays?

A. Yes, it is possible. Please submit your desired quantity, intended use, and preferred delivery date via the form, and our representative will provide a quote along with the optimal configuration.

Q15. Is it possible to customize the frame color or add a logo?

A. For corporate customers, the following customizations are available:

  • Frame color changes
  • Logo printing
  • Customization of fixed accessories (stands, magnets, etc.)

Please contact us with your desired specifications and estimated quantity. We will provide information on the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and lead time as needed.

Q16. Are product samples available for checking purposes?

A. We offer small-quantity purchases and sample shipments.

If you let us know the intended use—such as name tags, store displays, or factory applications—we can also recommend the optimal size and color configuration.

5. Purchase and Customer Support

Q17. What kind of warranty and support is available?

A. For initial defects or malfunctions under normal usage conditions, we provide replacements according to our company policy.

Please contact us with your place of purchase, order number, and photos or videos showing the issue.

Damage caused by external factors such as drops, immersion in water, or modifications is not covered under the warranty.

Q18. Is it possible to get invoices, quotes, or delivery notes?

A. For corporate customers, we can issue quotes, delivery notes, and invoices.

Q19. What are the estimated lead times and shipping charges?

A. For items in stock, the typical shipping time is 2–3 business days.
